PROJECT SPRINGFIELD
Rebuild St. Elizabeth: Spring Field Community Relief Project
🌿 Together, We Rise Stronger
In the wake of Hurricane Melissa, our beloved community called Springfield in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, has faced devastating loss — homes destroyed, farmlands flooded, and families left without the basic necessities of daily life. Among those affected are my own family and their neighbors, who have endured generations of resilience and self-sufficiency through farming and community care.
Now, it’s our time to give back — to uplift the hands that have long sustained the land.
When I have food, oh God –
Help me to remember the hungry;
When I have work, help me to remember the jobless;
When I have a warm home, help me to remember those who have no home at all;
When I am without pain, help me to remember those who suffer—
and remembering, help me to destroy my complacency,
and bestir my compassion—
and be concerned enough to help.
By word and deed, those who cry out for what we take for granted.
Amen.
— Samuel F. Pugh

🌾 Our Mission
Our mission is to raise funds and gather resources to help families rebuild their homes, restore farmland, and revive hope in the heart of St. Elizabeth. This initiative isn’t just about recovery — it’s about regeneration.
Through your support, we aim to:
Provide essential relief — food, clean water, clothing, and rebuilding materials.
Rebuild the family home and surrounding structures lost in the storm.
Create a community farm on family land to grow organic food for local families and provide employment for farmers.
Dig a sustainable water well, ensuring a clean and reliable water source for generations to come. They have been living off catching rain water.
